PiRC

Your pi sessions,
from your phone.

PiRC is remote control for pi, the coding agent. Run pi on your machines as you do now, then follow and drive every session from your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or a browser.

PiRC's session list: sessions grouped by machine and window, each marked working, done or asking A session in PiRC: the conversation, a tool's output streaming, and buttons to queue, steer or stop

What you can do

Every session, at a glance

Sessions on all your machines in one list, grouped by machine and by the tmux or herdr window they run in, with what is working, done or waiting for you.

Follow and steer

Read the conversation as it streams, tool calls included. Send a prompt or a photo, queue a follow-up or steer the turn in progress, or stop it.

Answer from anywhere

When pi asks a question, answer it from your phone; the answer closes the dialog in pi's terminal too.

Told when it matters

A notification when a session finishes or needs you. The push carries nothing: your phone reads your relay and writes the notification itself.

Start and stop

Open a new pi beside a running one, in a folder of that machine, start a new session, switch model, or stop a pi you no longer need.

Yours to run

Self-hosted: one small relay that your machines and phones dial out to, so nothing needs to reach your machines. Open source.

pi asks whether to overwrite a file; Yes and No answer it from the phone A machine asks to join; the phone shows its key to check before approving

How it works

  1. 1

The pi extension puts every pi session on the machine on your relay.

  2. 2

The relay is the one place your machines and clients connect to, each dialling out. Each registers once, by a key that never leaves it; you approve every machine and every phone.

  3. 3

The apps, for iPhone, iPad and Android, and a web app you run yourself, see every session on every machine the relay admits.

Your relay passes messages along; in this version they are not end-to-end encrypted, so run it on a machine you trust.

Open source, self-hosted

The pi extension and the code it shares are MIT; the relay and the web app AGPL-3.0; the mobile apps GPL-3.0. You run the relay, so your sessions stay on machines you choose. The only service of ours involved is the push gateway that wakes your phone, and it never sees your sessions.
